Nikolaou 'Mirage' Organic Nemea PDO Agiorgitiko
Made from organically grown Agiorgitiko grapes from the Nikolaou family’s own vineyards, with an average vine age of around ten years. No pesticides or fertilisers other than Bordeaux mixture, sulphur, and organic mulch are used, in keeping with organic farming principles, and only the minimum necessary amount of sulphur dioxide is added. Before the end of fermentation, the wine is transferred to oak barrels, where it remains for three months on its fine lees. Aromas of prune, plum, and cherry lead to a delicate, finely balanced palate with well-integrated fruit and a gentle, lingering finish.

Nikolaou Estate, Nemea, Peloponnese
Nikolaou Estate, currently run by Dimitris Nikolaou, was established in 1935 by his grandfather (also Dimitris Nikolaou). His father Giannis built the current winery in 1984, fresh out of his oenological studies in Bordeaux. In 1999 the winery moved to organic farming and low intervention methods to protect the environment and the unique ecosystem of the Asopos river, while raising the quality and purity of the wines. The 12ha estate produces and bottles wines from Agiorgitiko, Malagouzia, Kydonitsa, Assyrtiko, Moschofilero as well as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Syrah in small quantities.
