Ousyra Fokiano Rosé
OuSyra, Syros, Aegean Islands
OuSyra Winery was founded by Edward and Eileen in Chroussa, a small village in the south of Syros. The project began with just two wines: a white from the local Serifiotiko variety and a rosé from Fokiano, sourced from grapes grown on nearby Naxos.
The 2018 vintage marked the first vinification in their privately owned winery on Syros, allowing for greater precision and control in the cellar. Since then, production has remained deliberately small and focused, with an emphasis on freshness, aromatic character, and structure.
OuSyra is a champion of the rare, ungrafted Serifiotiko vines on Syros, while also highlighting other rare indigenous Cycladic varieties such as Monemvasia, Fokiano, Mavrotragano, and Assyrtiko to produce restrained, terroir-driven wines that reflect the dry climate, maritime influence, and distinctive Aegean setting.
