Menexes Orange Vilana
Menexes is a tiny producer in Crete. This amazing Orange wine is made from spontaneous fermentation in clay amphora, where it stays for 6 months in a cool cellar. Produced from the local Vilana grape, the lees are stirred regularly. It is bottled unfined and unfiltered. If you are new to natural Orange wine and are wondering what the fuss is about, here's a good place to start! Candied citrus peel aroma and a concentrated smooth off dry lemon and orange peel flavour. Powerful, but the acidity keeps it fresh. Perfect with rich meaty stews.
