The Rizes delicatessen brand is highly respected in Greece and this Sweet Red Pepper and Tomato Paste is handmade with more than 70% chargrilled sweet red peppers combined with tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, wine and a hint of sugar. The peppers are chargrilled, peeled, seeded by hand and ground before simmering for hours. Every jar is made during September and October when the peppers are at their ripest and this recipe has been handed down from families in Florina and Pella, where Greece meets North Macedonia and eastern Albania.
