Vineyard: Volacus wine vineyard is located near Falatados village on Tinos island. The area is unique due to the lunar landscape that the thousand round rocks scattered all over the area form. Among these granitic stones called volakes, which were formed approximately twenty million years ago, the vines grow and offer grapes of distinctive flavor.
Tasting notes: The unique terroir of Falatados brings out the dry, salty and mineral character of Assyrtiko along with some fresh peach and citrys notes.
Volacus wine was founded in 2010 by Michalis Kontizas, a young and ambitious cultivator and winemaker. Its first product, a white dry wine, was released in 2016 and was warmly welcomed by the wine lovers. Volacus wine focuses on reviving the wine tradition of Tinos island and production of high quality wines, respecting the nature and following organic techniques.
