The traditional Greek Easter bread, Tsoureki is a sweet, brioche-like bread, which is uniquely flavoured with mastiha, the resin of the mastic tree, and mahlepi, a spice made from the seeds of the Mahleb cherry. It is made in a braided 'plexouda' shape and can be eaten as is or toasted for breakfast, served with tea or used in deserts and not just at Easter!
