Marianna's Pies are produced by a women's co-operative in Halkidiki, northern Greece, using hand-made filo pastry, produced daily and filled with fresh, local ingredients to a traditional recipe.
Their Aubergine & Cheese pie is filled with a combination of smoked aubergine and Kaseri (PDO) cheese.Â
Ingredients: wheatÂ flour (34%), smoked aubergine (27%), partially hydrogenated margarine (12%), Kaseri cheese PDOÂ (6%), fresh whole milk,Â sunflower oil, salt, olive oil, eggs,Â butter,Â pepper. ContainsÂ glutenÂ and may contain traces ofÂ sesameÂ andÂ nuts.
Cooking instructions: Remove the tray from its packaging and put straight into a low shelf in your oven without pre-heating and set to 220oC until it begins to rise (about 15min). Take it out, cut into pieces and return it to the oven at 180oC until golden brown (about 45 min). Ensure it is cooked through before eating.Â
