Type: Red PGI Siatista
Varietal Composition: 100% Moschomavro
Region: Siatista, Western Macedonia, Northern Greece.
Vineyards: 850m - 950m, rocky limestone
Tasting Notes: A variety found only in the region of Siatista, Moschomavro is a light red, with few tanins and medium acidity and was the grape used in the famous sweet wine from the region. A light ruby colour with a full, aromatic nose, the pallet is seductive with at first fresh fruit and then prune, jam and pepper notes.
Famous for its wines in the 19th century, Siatista is now remote and relatively unkown wine region in the north of Greece. Diamantis focus on producing terroir-driven wines from indigenous varieties and both old bush vines and new plantings on their 12ha of rocky, limestone soil.
