Mild winter with a few drops of rain. Two days of snow during January. Bud break came early by the begining of March. Sunny weather during flowering. Strong winds blew in July during veraison. Until harvest we had hot and sunny days and low temperature during the night with more than 12 degrees of difference, August beeing the hotest month.
Whole banch grapes are gently put in two and three and a half tones open wooden vats. To gain more terroir expression the must ferments with indigenous yeasts. The temperature is controlled. Malolactic fermentation is completed in barrels. The wine matures for sixteen to eighteen months in french oak barrels, 30% of which are new. Bottling in June.
Deep red colour. Pepper ,spice and dark cherries nose with oaky aromas.The mouthfeel is rich, complex and generous, with long lasting finish. Great ageing potential.
