Type: Dry Red, PGI Aigialia
Varietal composition: Mavrodaphne 100%
Region: The vineyards are cultivated on the mountainous Slopes of Aigialeia in northern Peloponnese (650 m above sea level). These slopes are north-facing and their soil is mostly sand and clay on a geologic background of cohesive conglomerates with sand. The yields are 60hl/ha.
Vinification: The grapes were harvested at the begin of September, after systematic control of their ripening, in small crates and they came immediately to our gravity- flow winery. The grapes were cooled down and stayed with the skins for 3 days. After the skin contact, a classic red controlled fermentation and malolactic fermentation followed. Aged for 3 months in French oak barrels and hand-turned amphorae. Unfiltered.
