Rizes Sweet Red Pepper Pâté is a handmade product of char-grilled sweet red pepper to which the addition of paprika powder and hot green pepper make for a particularly concentrated and slightly spicy pâté.
The peppers are charcoal grilled, peeled, seeded by hand and, after they are ground they simmer for hours in pots together with the rest of the ingredients. Extra virgin olive oil is used in all recipes whose common characteristic is the unique smoked flavour of charcoal grilled pepper.
The paste is prepared during September and October when the peppers are ripe in Western Macedonia. The extra virgin olive oil and the high degree of ingredient density, between 70% and 80%, make the paste special and bring out its taste and fragrance. Its ingredients and preparation are based on traditional and family recipes from Florina and Pella. It is 100% natural and handmade without preservatives and industrially processed ingredients.
It has exquisite texture and pure rich flavour of smoked pepper and an after-taste of paprika powder.
