Halvas Drapetsonas is considered the best in Greece since 1924 and is still prepared with the traditional method, by hand, in their small workshop in the neighbourhood of Drapetsona.
Halvas is a traditional sweet found from India to Greece and North Africa, and particularly across the Middle East. The most popular Greek version is prepared from sesame seeds which are ground to make tahini, to which sugar is added, and kneaded together by hand to produce the long threads and unique texture of traditional halva. Halvas Drapetsonas have pioneered a no added-sugar alternative that is produced using the same traditional method,
- Ingredients: Tahini (crushed sesame seeds) 57%, polydextrose, fructooligosaccharides, sweetener: xylitol (7%), vanillin, Saponaria officinalis extract. May contain traces of other nuts. Contains naturally occurring sugars from tahini.
